Curb appeal sells houses
Curb appeal in a down market can be extremely important. When there are tons of houses on the market for low prices, a good curb appeal may be what makes the buyer choose your property of a number of others. I compiled a basic list of what to do for creating fantastic curb appeal.
How to Discover curb appeal
Put yourself in the buyers shoes when trying to create attractive curb appeal. Ask yourself a few questions such as what would look good to you? What do you consider the best exterior features of a home? What do you consider the worst exterior features of a home?
Some general features to look for when establishing curb appeal require you to go back to the basics. Make sure no clutter is in the windows and that all paint is up to par including trim. Next, landscaping is extremely important. This means not only a clean yard, but a yard that has plants, rocks and gravel laid out in an aesthetically pleasing way that compliments your home.
Night time curb appeal is also very important. This means having a well lit yard that highlights the positive features of it. Somethings you will want to do include having an attractive porch light, outdoor lights that highlight the walkways and plant areas. You can also string lights across backyard seating areas as well.
These are just a few tips for increasing your curb appeal. While it doesn’t seem like the work is worth the effort when you are selling, it really can make a difference between the buyer choosing your home and one that is of equal size and quality to yours.
